Barb-Lin Carpet One Floor & Home Introduce
For over 75 years, Barb-Lin Carpet One Floor & Home has been a cornerstone of home renovation and commercial upgrade services in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1948 and proudly serving as a family-owned and operated business, this Doylestown establishment is much more than a simple flooring store. It functions as a comprehensive general contractor specializing in the supply, design, and professional installation of interior surfaces—specifically floors and windows—for both residential and commercial clients across the region.
The longevity of Barb-Lin in the competitive Pennsylvania market is a testament to its commitment to quality products, reliable service, and strong local roots. Named after the original owner's daughters, Barbara and Linda, the business maintains a reputation for excellence that spans generations. Today, under the stewardship of owners John and Janeen McCarty, they continue to uphold this legacy, emphasizing personalized service, a wide selection of quality products, and professional execution.
Barb-Lin’s extensive product selection includes an impressive array of floor coverings—from luxurious carpet and timeless hardwood to durable luxury vinyl tile (LVT), laminate, ceramic, and porcelain tile. Beyond floor coverings, they distinguish themselves by also offering a full range of window treatments, including high-quality lines like Hunter Douglas. This dual specialization makes them a convenient, one-stop-shop solution for local homeowners and businesses looking to coordinate their interior finishes seamlessly. By providing free estimates and financing options, they aim to make the process of achieving dream floors and windows accessible and straightforward for the Pennsylvania community.
However, potential customers should note that while the business has many long-term positive reviews highlighting knowledgeable staff and professional installers, the provided customer feedback indicates instances where issues with quality control or communication have arisen, particularly concerning product matching and follow-up. It is reassuring to see that, in at least one instance, the company president intervened to ensure the issue was corrected via a complete re-install, demonstrating a commitment to standing behind their work and ensuring customer satisfaction, ultimately leading to a 5-star review update. This shows an operational commitment to their service guarantee, even when a project requires extensive corrective action.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1As an update to our review - John, the President, of Barb-Lin reached out to us about our concerns and experience. John mentioned to us this is not consistent with the quality of work delivered. We scheduled a walk through so that John could see the our floors firsthand. After seeing the quality of the install John arranged for us to have the floors re-installed. The re-install went extremely smooth, only taking 1 day, and resolved all of our concerns left from the original poor install. As we are a repeat customer of Barb-Lin, it was reassuring to have them stand behind their work and ensure high quality work is always delivered. Because of this we are changing out review to 5-stars. While it would have been even better to have a proper install the first time around, it’s also important companies stand behind their product when things don’t go well.
October 17 · Isis ShannonThese are photos of hardwood I was assured would match. Obviously they don’t and two store employees agreed but 7 weeks after I was told I would get a call back I am still waiting on a call back. Today I spoke to the owner and he commented that that this issue was closed but he didn’t seem to be aware. Very poor customer service. I guess we will see if they will make it right.Update to this review from a few months ago. As you can see by the pictures Barb Lin failed to support their customer in this instance even after having two of their employees say the hardwood floor did not match. Also, the owner never called, just sent a certified letter. Classy bunch they are.Waited a couple weeks and still no response. Further evidence that they care little about their customers. April 2, 2024One year later and I am still waiting on Barb Lin to make the right. Also, Mullican Hardwood Flooring rep came to me house and provided no satisfaction. He blamed Barb Lin. Both groups are a joke.
April 24 · Pat GebhartThey talk a big talk. We had a stair carpet installed. Top top dollar fees and the installers were leaving having not installed the rails for the inseams. We prepaid it and they were written on the order and the installers said it wasn’t their job and were literally leaving. My wife had to insist to get them to finish the job as paid for. Weird. No apologies or follow up. The carpet was installed properly. But attention to our details was not handled well. Sad.
March 28 · TLC Services DivisionWatch out for these guys... make sure you understand their (lack of) return policy and how they sell you more than you need.We wanted luxury vinyl flooring in our master bath, and settled on an item that we could only get from Barb-Lin. My wife first inquired with a salesman named Frank and received a price. When she went back to place the order, the price went up. On asking Frank about the price increase, he denied giving the first price. We wanted it, so the order was placed. My wife asked for 4 cartons, but Frank strongly recommended she buy 5 cartons to account for waste, so she bought 5.After the job was completed and 3-1/2 cartons were used, I called and spoke to Frank about a return. He seemed miffed and said he would call me back. Hearing nothing by the end of the day, I called him back.Frank advised that the store would not take the return and the mill (he meant manufacturer) would charge a restock fee plus shipping, costing more to return than what I had already paid. I asked what the store's return policy was, and he essentially said the store didn't have one and they leave it up to the mill (manufacturer). He said he would call me if someone wanted that same vinyl tile, where he would give a full refund. I expressed my frustration that the chance of that would be near zero, to which he said "it could happen".So I'm stuck with a $160 carton. As originally calculated, only 4 cartons were needed. Had we known the item was not returnable, there's no way we would have purchased the additional carton. So, good job Frank, you got us. I hope you enjoy the $8 commission you squeezed from us.Be very careful if you must deal with Barb-Lin. For me, a pricey lesson.03/2025 update: 9 months later and I’ve received exactly 0 calls from Barb-Lin. A full carton of vinyl flooring sits in my basement
March 18 · QtownPenn AllentownMy husband and I were in the market for an area rug for our bedroom. We stopped at Avalon. The salesperson was very nice but just not familiar with inventory. We live in Doylestown and had forgotten about Barb-Lin. We had purchased blinds from them about 5 years ago-great quality and service.Well I certainly won’t forget about them again!Frank helped us-his 23 yrs of experience there along with his non pressure demeanor was a win for us. We explained what we were looking for and he came up with a number of great options. He was conscious of our price range and came up with numerous options within our budget. We were back and forth several times with different samples until we found exactly what we were looking for.We even ended up buying a second rug for our guest room.Countless options in all price ranges. It’ll be our first stop is we ever need another rug.
