Better Carpet Warehouse Introduce
For over two decades, Better Carpet Warehouse has been a staple of Brooklyn’s home design and renovation scene, establishing itself as a comprehensive flooring store specializing in carpet and area rugs. Located strategically on Atlantic Avenue, the business was founded by Wayne McPherson and Edwin Perez, two industry veterans who boast a combined 42 years of experience in the carpet business. Their origins—selling carpets out of the trunks of their cars—underscore a commitment to hard work and direct customer engagement that still defines the business today. Since setting up their permanent showroom at 443 Atlantic Avenue in August 2000, they have offered New Yorkers a vast, global selection of carpets and rugs, sourcing materials from Italy, Belgium, Pakistan, Turkey, alongside the best domestic brands.
Better Carpet Warehouse operates as a full-service retailer, transcending the typical "warehouse" model by offering specialized services that cover the entire lifecycle of a floor covering. They cater to both residential and commercial clients, understanding the distinct needs of a Brooklyn brownstone versus a downtown office space. Their involvement in high-profile media, including features on HGTV's The High Low Project and Design Star, highlights their industry recognition and the quality of their product and design guidance. The name "Better" is intended to convey an exceptional standard of product and customer experience, which many customers appreciate, particularly when it comes to complex services like stain removal and restoration.
However, potential buyers should be aware that, like any business operating in a competitive retail landscape, not all customer experiences are uniformly positive, and it is crucial for New York customers to conduct diligent price comparisons. While one reviewer praised the exceptional service and the dramatic restoration of a Moroccan rug with a "significant stain" to look "brand new," another strongly cautioned future buyers, alleging a significant price disparity for an identical rug found at a mass retailer. This situation underscores the importance of leveraging the store's expert consultation for bespoke needs (like custom work or difficult cleaning) while remaining an informed consumer on standard, mass-produced items.
The store's physical location is 443 Atlantic Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11217, USA, situated between Bond Street and Nevins Street in downtown Brooklyn. This is a central, highly trafficked corridor known for its diverse retail landscape and accessibility. For customers traveling from across the boroughs, the location is extremely convenient.
The accessibility of Better Carpet Warehouse is a major benefit for Brooklyn residents and those using the city's robust public transit network. The store is located near several major subway hubs, including the Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center station, which serves the 2, 3, 4, 5, B, D, N, Q, and R trains, as well as the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR). For drivers, the option of Paid Street Parking is available in the surrounding area, though, as is common in New York City, spaces may be limited. For payments, the business is modernized, accepting major Credit Cards, Debit Cards, and NFC Mobile Payments, making transactions quick and convenient.

What Is Worth Choosing:
Better Carpet Warehouse is worth choosing primarily for customers in the New York area who have specialized, complex, or high-end flooring needs. They are the ideal choice if you require expert installation for wall-to-wall carpeting, or if you possess an area rug—especially a handmade or antique piece—that needs professional cleaning, repair, or custom binding services. The company's deep experience and demonstrated success in major stain removal make them a go-to specialist for saving a cherished rug that might otherwise be considered lost. Their global product selection is also attractive to buyers seeking unique or high-end materials not found in generic retail chains. Given the noted discrepancy in pricing for some standard items, it is recommended that buyers use the store for its unparalleled expertise and specialized services, such as custom work and restoration, while performing their own market comparisons for widely available, mass-produced carpet models to ensure they are receiving the best overall value.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I brought in my Moroccan rug for cleaning with a significant stain in the corner. I was worried my rug was ruined beyond repair, but Better Carpet Warehouse made it look brand new! I will definitely be using their services in the future
July 26 · Kathryn McGeeBuyers beware! Learn from our mistake: We thought we were getting a nice high-end carpet (6x9 for over $900). Imagine our surprise when we found the EXACT SAME rug at Home Depot for less than half the price (no returns of course). Yes we were suckers, but this store is still the worst sort of predatory business. Avoid at all costs.
August 25 · Dan & Tiv MesseI have rave reviews for the Better Carpet Warehouse. The stairway carpet I bought recently looks beautiful. The selection was great and the help selecting it was also great. Their advice was perfect. Installation workers did a fantastic job. From beginning to end, we were incredibly pleased and I highly recommend them.
February 09 · Madelaine SantnerGreat carpets at better prices. Great, friendly customer service, very accommodating and professional. You won't find a better value for your money.
March 26 · Robert CopelandWe had such a great experience with Better Carpet Warehouse, a local Brooklyn business. They installed a stair runner for us. They were so professional from start to finish. So many choices, Wayne was terrific in terms of narrowing the options down, providing samples and guidance. The team that installed was also wonderful -- clean, fast and friendly. We love our new stair runner and we highly recommend working with them.
