Ollie's Bargain Outlet Introduce
For savvy shoppers across Pennsylvania, the name Ollie's Bargain Outlet is synonymous with incredible savings and the thrill of the hunt. Situated right here in Scranton, this location on North Keyser Avenue is a crucial destination for local users looking to stretch their dollar without sacrificing quality. Ollie's is not your typical retailer; it operates as a genuine 'Discount store', specializing in purchasing name-brand manufacturer's overruns, overstocks, and closeout merchandise from other retailers and manufacturers. This unique business model ensures that the store is constantly filled with an unpredictable, yet exciting, array of 'Good Stuff Cheap.'
What truly sets this store apart for Pennsylvania residents is its expansive scope as a 'Home goods store' and much more. While the core mission is to provide deep discounts, the inventory categories are remarkably broad, covering items one might find across several specialized retail outlets. The listed types for this Scranton location reflect this variety, essentially combining the best elements of an 'Appliance store' (small appliances and kitchen gadgets), a 'Book store' (often featuring deep discounts on new releases and graphic novels), a 'Flooring store' (area rugs, vinyl plank, and laminate), a 'Garden center' (seasonal lawn and garden products), a 'Hardware store' (tools and DIY supplies), a 'Mattress store' (occasionally scoring closeouts on mattresses), an 'Outdoor furniture store', and even a 'Pottery store' (home decor and seasonal ceramics). This comprehensive mix makes Ollie's a vital, cost-effective resource for furnishing, decorating, and maintaining a home right here in the Keystone State.
However, a crucial element of the Ollie’s experience that local shoppers must understand is the nature of a closeout retailer. The inventory is famously 'hit or miss'—if you see a spectacular deal on a name-brand product you love, the golden rule is to buy it, as there is no guarantee it will ever be stocked again. The store's constant turnover of deep-discounted, opportunistic buys ensures that every visit is a new 'treasure hunt' for unexpected bargains. It is this element of unpredictability and the promise of a potentially phenomenal deal that draws a devoted following of Pennsylvania bargain hunters.
While the low prices are the main attraction, it is important for prospective shoppers to manage expectations regarding the shopping environment and internal operations. Some customer feedback points to operational challenges, citing instances of 'complete chaos' in stock management and occasional issues with customer service staff. This suggests that the focus remains heavily on acquiring and selling products at the lowest possible cost, which can sometimes impact in-store conditions and staff training. Shoppers should be prepared for a no-frills, high-volume retail setting where deep discounts are prioritized over a polished shopping experience. Nevertheless, for the resident committed to finding unbeatable prices on quality brands for a 'Quick visit' or a dedicated hunt, the Scranton Ollie's remains a highly valuable local asset.

For Pennsylvania shoppers who prioritize value above all else, Ollie's Bargain Outlet in Scranton is an essential destination. The decision to shop here is primarily driven by the unparalleled price point on name-brand merchandise. If your priority is securing a deal on home essentials—from 'Home goods store' items like towels and bedding to 'Hardware store' accessories or a last-minute outdoor furniture piece—Ollie's provides an opportunity to save significant money that traditional retailers simply cannot match. The constantly rotating inventory, sourced from major manufacturers' overruns, means that a savvy shopper can score a deep discount on a high-quality product that was only recently available at full price elsewhere. This store is less about a luxurious, highly-organized shopping experience and more about a strategic, cost-saving treasure hunt.
However, potential customers should choose Ollie’s with a full understanding of the customer experience, which can be described as a trade-off. While the prices are excellent, some existing customer feedback indicates that the store environment can be disorganized, or that interactions with staff may occasionally be less polished than at full-price retailers. For example, some customers have experienced frustrations relating to stock handling and customer service interactions, suggesting that the drive for extreme cost-efficiency sometimes impacts operational standards. Despite this, the corporate policy includes a clear 30-day return policy and accepts various modern payment methods, indicating a structural commitment to basic service standards.
Ultimately, this 'Discount store' is worth choosing for the resilient, budget-conscious Pennsylvania shopper who is prepared to look past the occasional chaos for the reward of truly 'cheap stuff.' It is the best local spot for finding unexpected closeouts on a diverse range of items—including specialty goods like 'Flooring store' materials and 'Book store' selections—making it a vital and cost-effective fixture in the Scranton retail landscape. As an established Pennsylvania-born company, it maintains a strong local identity dedicated to putting deep savings directly into the hands of the community.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Complete chaos(!)(!)(!)Why order cargo if you have no one to work and no place to fold?My back and arms have been hurting for several days from the fact that I unloaded your cargo, but I didn't even get a "thank you" in response, especially something else that, by the way, seemed to have been promised...Just think carefully, is it worth unloading the cargo here???With this approach to business, both you and them will have problem
February 27 · Andrey RusavukGreat items, great prices, but highly rude staff. Went there for a few items with some friends from out of town. At checkout, the guy was clearly new and that was fine. He helped us out, but struggled to ring up a discounted candy. The guy looked at his coworker, who rudely addressed him and the situation. They were busy, but the poor kid was clearly new. After, several minutes waiting for him to find the code, my friend told him not to worry about it. He finally found it, rang us up, and we left. Same friend looked closer at the receipt as we left and realized, in his stressful attempt to ring up this candy, the cashier overcharged us over $15 for a 50 cent bag of candy. We went right back in and went right to this cashier again. He had to call over the coworker again to help get us a refund and she dressed him down terribly in front of the customers, berating him for screwing up that bad and holding up the massive line of customers. This kid was clearly trying to do his best, but the other coworker was beyond rude and disrespectful to him over an honest mistake. I think it's going to be a long time before I go back to Ollie's, if at all. That lady deserves to be fired!!!
September 08 · Jessica NotariI will give this Ollie's location 5 stars. The size of the store is decent and it's got a large selection of items to go through. Great pricing and most food items are far from their expiration date. Many items are things you might never see again, so get 'em while you can. Finally, the staff is kind and helpful. An overall great experience every time, so be sure to stop in here when you can. 👍
April 14 · King CoolQuite an assortment of items. Some you won't find anywhere else. Not all the prices are great, though. That being said, It is a good place to find flooring and carpets and snack items.
September 15 · kathleen hartmanMessy is the word that comes to mind about the store. Stock was hit and miss. Items not tagged in the small clothing department made shopping a bit tricky. I found what I needed in kitchen and HBA.Fine for "adventure shopping" but not someplace I'd suggest would have consistent options.
