The Home Depot Introduce
For residents across Waterbury and the surrounding areas of Connecticut, The Home Depot at 575 Bank Street stands as the essential destination for all home improvement, repair, and construction needs. As the world’s largest home improvement retailer, the Waterbury location is structured as a warehouse-format store, providing an extensive array of products—typically stocking over 35,000 items in the main store and a fully-equipped outdoor garden center. This store is classified as a comprehensive home improvement store, consolidating the inventory of an appliance store, a cabinet store, a hardware store, and a paint store all under one roof, making it a powerful resource for both the dedicated DIY enthusiast and professional contractors.
The store's vast inventory covers everything from basic building materials like lumber, drywall, and plumbing supplies, to high-end appliances, lighting fixtures, and decorative home décor. Customers can browse departments dedicated to flooring, tools, windows, doors, and garden supplies, ensuring they can find almost anything required for a project, whether it’s a quick fix or a major renovation. The sheer size of the operation, coupled with services like in-store pickup and delivery, positions this Home Depot as a fundamental component of the Connecticut home maintenance and improvement landscape.
However, the experience for local Connecticut users can vary significantly. While the store is designed to offer maximum convenience and value, especially through programs like the expanded military discount, not all visits are seamless. Some long-time customers who appreciate the product availability have noted that the in-store organization can sometimes be challenging, with aisles occasionally blocked and merchandise misplaced. Furthermore, the level of direct, proactive in-aisle assistance from associates has been cited as inconsistent by some patrons. Despite these operational concerns, the store does house dedicated teams, such as the Pro Service Desk and specialized service groups—including the highly-praised military veterans like Miles and his team—who demonstrate exceptional customer service and knowledge, particularly when assisting with large, complex projects like full bathroom remodels.
The Home Depot in Waterbury is conveniently located at a high-traffic intersection, serving as a hub for both local residents and contractors commuting through the area.

For Connecticut homeowners, The Home Depot in Waterbury is an undeniable resource due to its sheer scale and the integrated nature of its services. It is worth choosing The Home Depot for its "one-stop shop" capability. If a Waterbury resident is undertaking a full kitchen remodel, they can purchase the cabinets, flooring, appliances, lighting, and all the necessary tools and hardware from a single vendor. Crucially, they can also contract the installation through the Home Services program, providing a streamlined, end-to-end process backed by licensed and insured professionals. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I wanted to take a moment to recognize some outstanding employees at your store in hopes that this message reaches upper management.A huge thank you to Miles and his team—Al, Darrin, and Thomas—for their incredible support with my two bathroom remodel projects. From start to finish, they were informative, helpful, and went above and beyond to ensure I had everything I needed. They also made sure my military discounts were properly applied, which helped me save a significant amount.I’ve been a regular customer at this Home Depot for the past six years, but this was my first major home project—and I couldn’t be more pleased with the experience. It’s reassuring to know we have dedicated veterans like Miles and his crew working here. Their professionalism and service made a big difference. If you’re stopping by the store, make sure to say hello to these guys—they truly represent the best of what Home Depot has to offer.Semper Fi
May 28 · Orlando FigueroaIf I didn’t live so close to this Home Depot I would never go there, unfortunately it’s the only one within my reach. Whenever I enter the building I immediately get depressed, as a man, Home Depot is a sweet retreat to browse, shop, and maybe have casual convos with other DIYers or getting tips from contractors. That was my positive experience when I lived in Fairfield and did business with the Fairfield Home Depot. Waterbury is on a different level. Every associate that I walk by deliberately makes no eye contact, no hellos, just walks right on by. Forget about trying to ask someone for help, their response “I don’t work in this department” and walks away. The store is always in a state of distress, aisles blocked with unpacked merchandise, shelves looking like a grenade went off in them, and finding products in plumbing that actually belong in garden. Let’s not mention the harassment by the solar lady every single time you walk in there, no is no lady! Now being that my truck broke down and I needed to have my next project items delivered I was a prisoner to their lackluster services. I needed 7 sheets of drywall and two sheets of plywood delivered. The pictures speak for themselves. How do you hand pick these items and say to yourself “good to go”? Now you might say well that was the drivers fault, nope, I watched him unload it and he was very careful. Fortunately a phone call was made and I will get a new delivery, but now my project gets pushed a few days. I think my Waterbury Home Depot days are over now that I am stewing about it and I will have to take the trips to Lowe’s or Southington:(
June 18 · Juls JulianoI recently rented a drill core machine from Rom Depot in Waterbury, Connecticut. The equipment itself worked perfectly, and I had no issues during use. However, when I returned the machine, I had a very negative experience with the staff member responsible for the equipment area. When trying to place the machine back on the platform, I had some difficulty and asked for help. The gentleman in charge was clearly stressed, refused to assist me, and even reprimanded me, saying that I could not remove the machine from the platform. I have rented this same equipment multiple times before, and I know that it can be removed from the platform when there isn’t enough space to bring the platform to the drilling location. His attitude was extremely rude and unprofessional. On the other hand, the lady at the counter was very polite, respectful, and helpful – exactly how customer service should be.So, my feedback is this: the gentleman who manages the machines deserves zero stars, while the lady who helped me deserves five stars. Rom Depot in Waterbury should pay closer attention to how their staff treats customers, especially loyal ones who are familiar with the equipment and procedures.
September 15 · Isaias Pereira de OliveiraReally bad customer service! I came in looking for foundation coating, but there wasn’t any available. I then look on the HD app to see if they had it somewhere else and I see there’s about 30 in stock at this store. So then I go looking for an employee for some help, I asked 3 different workers for help , which they all said the same thing “Someone will be right there to help you”. I waited for about 40 min and nobody showed up to get it down from the top shelf. I then see another employee walking by and asked once again for help. Jason noticed how frustrated I was and made sure to help me right away. He immediately found someone with a lift to take down the pallet. Not only was he helpful, nice, and efficient, he was doing his job correctly. Something the other employees should learn how to do. Jason also let me know that if I ever need help again just to let him know and he would gladly help.
September 16 · Yiny DiazBeware: GPS will guide you to the street address, which is nowhere near the entrance, with no signage directing you there. Don't go there at night.Stock was limited and misplaced. Staff was friendly and helpful, though.
